Terms of Service

1. Introduction & Acceptance

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of services provided by A Wilkinson Company Ltd, trading as AWC Group (company number pending), ("we", "us", "our"). Our registered address is in Bedfordshire, United Kingdom.

By requesting a quotation, booking a service, or otherwise engaging with AWC Group, you ("the Customer") agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our services. We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time, and the most current version will always be available on our website at awcgroup.uk.

2. Services

AWC Group provides professional services across the following divisions:

  • Pest Control – Identification, treatment, prevention, and management of pest infestations for residential and commercial properties.
  • Fire Safety – Fire risk assessments, fire safety equipment supply, installation, servicing, and compliance consultancy.
  • Hygiene Services – Commercial hygiene solutions including washroom services, sanitisation, and hygiene consumable supply.
  • Locksmith – Emergency lockout assistance, lock replacement, repair, and security upgrade services.

We primarily operate across Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire, and surrounding areas. Service availability may vary by location, and we reserve the right to decline work outside our operational area.

3. Quotations & Pricing

All quotations provided by AWC Group are valid for 30 days from the date of issue unless otherwise stated. Quotations are based on the information provided by the Customer and a visual assessment where applicable.

Prices are quoted in pounds sterling (GBP) and are inclusive of VAT where applicable. If additional work is required beyond the original scope of the quotation, we will inform the Customer and provide a revised quote before proceeding. We reserve the right to adjust pricing if the scope of work changes or if site conditions differ materially from what was described or assessed.

4. Booking & Cancellation

Bookings are confirmed once the Customer accepts a quotation and an appointment date and time have been agreed. We will make every reasonable effort to attend at the scheduled time, but appointment times are estimates and not guaranteed.

The Customer may cancel or reschedule a booking free of charge provided at least 24 hours' notice is given. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice may incur a cancellation fee of up to 50% of the quoted price. For emergency call-out services, cancellation terms may vary and will be communicated at the time of booking.

AWC Group reserves the right to cancel or reschedule appointments due to unforeseen circumstances, adverse weather, or other factors beyond our reasonable control. In such cases, we will offer an alternative appointment at the earliest opportunity at no additional cost.

5. Service Delivery

We will carry out all services with reasonable care and skill in accordance with industry standards and applicable regulations. Where treatments or products are used, we will provide the Customer with relevant safety information and aftercare instructions.

For pest control services, we cannot guarantee complete eradication in a single visit, as the nature of pest infestations may require multiple treatments. Follow-up visits, where included in the quotation, will be scheduled as agreed.

For fire safety services, recommendations and reports are based on the conditions observed at the time of assessment. Ongoing compliance is the responsibility of the Customer.

Access to the property or premises must be provided at the agreed time. If the Customer fails to provide access, a wasted visit charge may apply.

6. Limitation of Liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be lawfully excluded or limited under the laws of England and Wales.

Subject to the above, our total liability to the Customer in respect of all losses arising under or in connection with these Terms, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty, or otherwise, shall not exceed the total amount paid by the Customer for the specific service giving rise to the claim.

We shall not be liable for any indirect, consequential, or special losses, including but not limited to loss of profit, loss of business, business interruption, or loss of business opportunity.

We shall not be liable for any damage, loss, or delay caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, severe weather, industrial disputes, or government action.

7. Insurance

AWC Group maintains appropriate public liability insurance and professional indemnity insurance for the services we provide. Details of our insurance cover are available upon request. Our insurance covers work carried out by our operatives within the scope of the agreed services.

8. Customer Obligations

The Customer agrees to:

  • Provide accurate and complete information when requesting a quotation or booking a service.
  • Ensure safe and reasonable access to the property or premises at the agreed time.
  • Inform us of any known hazards, health and safety risks, or access restrictions at the property.
  • Follow any aftercare instructions, safety guidance, or recommendations provided by our operatives.
  • Ensure that any required permissions from landlords, managing agents, or third parties have been obtained before work commences.
  • Remove or secure pets, vulnerable persons, and personal belongings as advised prior to service delivery.
  • Not interfere with or tamper with any equipment, bait stations, or products installed by AWC Group.

9. Payment Terms

Payment is due upon completion of the service unless alternative payment terms have been agreed in writing. For contracted or ongoing services, invoices will be issued in accordance with the agreed schedule and are payable within 14 days of the invoice date.

We accept payment by bank transfer, card, and other methods as communicated at the time of booking. Late payments may be subject to interest at the rate of 4% above the Bank of England base rate, in accordance with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998, where applicable.

We reserve the right to suspend ongoing services if payment is not received within 30 days of the due date.

10. Complaints

We are committed to providing a high standard of service. If you are dissatisfied with any aspect of our work, please contact us as soon as possible so that we can resolve the matter promptly.

We aim to acknowledge all complaints within 2 working days and to provide a full response or resolution within 10 working days. If we are unable to resolve a complaint to your satisfaction, you may be entitled to refer the matter to an appropriate alternative dispute resolution provider or the courts.

11. Intellectual Property

All content on the AWC Group website, including but not limited to text, images, logos, graphics, and design, is the property of A Wilkinson Company Ltd or its licensors and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from any content on our website without our prior written consent.

Any reports, assessments, or documentation produced by AWC Group in the course of delivering services remain our intellectual property. The Customer is granted a non-exclusive licence to use such documents for their own internal purposes only.

12. Governing Law

These Terms and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or their subject matter or formation (including non-contractual disputes or claims) shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.

The courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms.
